Magic Slim was among the last in a lengthy line of musicians who grew up during the Deep South then moved to Chicago, where the blues developed within the decades soon after World War II from the people songs performed primarily on acoustic guitars to a loud, raucous, distinctly city songs, played on electrical devices through the likes of Muddy Wa
